Director, Human Resources

Nicole York is the Senior Director of Human Resources for the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA). Mrs. York is an HR professional with over 20 years of progressive experience and consistent success designing, implementing, managing, and administering HR, payroll, and benefits system(s) solutions for both profit and nonprofit organizations across a variety of industries.

Over the past two decades, Mrs. York has held various HR management and development roles, as well HR leadership roles in organizations ranging from 25-35,000 employees.

She has been responsible for managing all facets of HR in addition to payroll and time and attendance. In addition, she has served on numerous project steering committees, as well as held the roles of project lead and functional consultant. She is also an adjunct professor at the Prince George's Community College where she teaches in the Hospitality Management Department.

Mrs. York has held a certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) since 2006, and in 2015 she was certified for the new SHRM-SCP designation.

Mrs. York has a B.A. in speech pathology & audiology from CUNY Brooklyn College and a M.A. in human resources from Bowie State University. She resides in Bowie, MD with her husband and two children.
