A summary of the Advancing Family Economic Mobility (AFEM) initiative, this document describes the multi-year effort led by APHSA to help public human services agencies strengthen how they support families’ long-term economic stability and well-being. It distills key themes and lessons learned from participating sites, such as the importance of lived experience, cross-sector collaboration, and addressing structural barriers within human services systems.
