Jessica Garon

Director of Communications

Jessica Garon is the Director of Communications for the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA).

In her current role, she develops and directs strategic communication within the association, manages media relations, and oversees content for APHSA’s publications and digital platforms to maximize member connectedness and industry impact. She also serves as editor-in-chief for the association’s magazine, Policy & Practice.

Before joining APHSA, Jessica served as a Graduate Programs Coordinator for the Department of Communication at George Mason University. Also serving as an instructor for the department, she taught courses in public speaking and interpersonal and group interaction. Jessica earned a B.A. in Public Relations and a M.A. in Health and Strategic Communication from George Mason University.

With her varied experience and knowledge of communication tactics and strategies, Jessica continues to ensure APHSA provides members with high quality information, resources, and tools to strengthen their agencies’ capacity and impact.
