The North Star Convening will bring together grantees within Kresge’s Human Services portfolio as a collective group of leaders who share a commitment to the North Star -- advancing social and economic mobility for people with low income in America’s cities.

Flipping The Script: Shifting Mindsets Through the Power of Narrative, will focus on how to identify and effectively counter the disruptive myths and beliefs at the root of public opposition to efforts to advance SEM. Many times our efforts to explain the importance of Human-Serving work actually reinforces these unhelpful beliefs. Rather than working harder or shouting louder, we’ll explore why our communication efforts often backfire or fall on deaf ears and explore what is working to shift public mindsets.
