Policy Coordinator, Food and Nutrition Services

Kara Williams (she/her), is a Policy Coordinator for Food and Nutrition Services at APHSA, primarily focusing on Summer EBT and SNAP. In her role, Kara engages with state agencies implementing Summer EBT, including facilitating peer community spaces for Summer EBT practitioners to share learnings and support. Kara also contributes to the day-to-day management and operations of APHSA’s Food and Nutrition Services portfolio.

Kara specializes in coordinating initiatives to improve access to nutritious foods, including project management, relationship building, and promoting methods to support community-driven benefits access. Her past work includes serving as a project lead for statewide SNAP and WIC outreach enrollment projects in New York.

Kara is a New York Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.
