Nicole Acosta (she/her) is a Process Innovation Coordinator at APHSA. In this role, Nicole provides project, administrative, and coordination support to advance the Process Innovation team’s priorities. She collaborates closely with internal teams, members, and partners to support the implementation and success of APHSA initiatives.
Prior to joining APHSA in this role, Nicole served as a Program Associate at the National WIC Association. There, she supported a project focused on expanding access to and participation in the WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). She also worked on a grant initiative aimed at improving data sharing and streamlining referrals between WIC agencies and healthcare providers.
Additionally, Nicole worked at her local farmers market, where she helped run food assistance programs like SNAP, WIC FMNP, and Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB), and gained hands-on experience working with vendors and customers.
Nicole previously interned with APHSA as a SNAP & Nutrition Supports Intern, contributing to the Coordinating SNAP and Nutrition Supports (CSNS) Cohort 2 project through the development of case studies and supporting organization and project management efforts.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University with a certificate in Applied Behavioral Health and is passionate about the intersection of social justice and systems innovation.
